WWE NXT Heatwave 2024 PLE is set for July 7, 2024, at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada. This event coincides with the same weekend and location as Money in the Bank 2024, which occurs on July 6. The main card will start at 7 PM ET, with the pre-show beginning at 6 PM ET. WWE announced in January 2024 that NXT Heatwave would return as a PLE on July 7 at Scotiabank Arena, following SmackDown on July 5 and Money in the Bank on July 6. The Heatwave series returned as an NXT Weekly special in 2022 and 2023. This is the third event under NXT and the tenth event overall in the series.
At NXT Heatwave, Karmen Petrovic and Arianna Grace will face Jacy Jayne and Jazmyn Nyx in a tag team match. Speculations suggest Jayne and Nyx will defeat Petrovic and Grace, ending their feud. Andre Chase and Duke Hudson of Chase University won the Tag Team Turmoil match to become the #1 contenders for the tag team title. They will challenge Nathan Frazer and Axiom for the NXT Tag Team Championship at the event. Internal tensions between Frazer and Axiom might lead to Chase U capturing the titles. WWE Champion Cody Rhodes announced a 25-Man Battle Royal on the June 11 NXT episode, with the winner challenging NXT Champion Trick Williams at Heatwave. Je’Von Evans won the Battle Royal but was defeated by Ethan Page in a singles match later. Additionally, a tag team turmoil match on the June 18 NXT episode determined the contenders for the Tag Team Championship at Heatwave.
