AEW taped the highly anticipated September 20th 2024 edition of AEW Rampage at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, on September 18. The night kicked off with Mark Briscoe securing a victory over Bryan Keith. However, his celebration was short-lived as Chris Jericho ambushed Briscoe post-match, striking him with a bat.
In other action, Wheeler Yuta emerged victorious over The Butcher in a hard-hitting contest, while Hikaru Shida overcame Harley Cameron. After the match, Cameron and Saraya launched an attack on Shida, but Jamie Hayter rushed in to make the save. Hayter then officially challenged Saraya to a match at AEW Grand Slam, setting up a major showdown.
Elsewhere on the show, Beast Mortos teamed up with Roderick Strong to defeat local talent in a tag team match. A vignette for Deonna Purrazzo aired, teasing her return to AEW. Additionally, the duo of Mason Madden and Mansoor, known as the MxM Collection, stirred up trouble by stealing Max Caster’s jacket.
The night concluded with a high-energy four-way match where Nick Wayne picked up a win over Rocky Romero, Lio Rush, and Kip Sabian.
