The November 29 2024 episode of Friday Night SmackDown serves as the final build-up to WWE’s Survivor Series Premium Live Event (PLE), scheduled for the following day at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada. Pre-taped after the November 22 show at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, this week’s SmackDown was scheduled in advance to allow WWE’s superstars and staff to enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday.
The Women’s United States Title Tournament continues this week with a high-stakes triple-threat match. Piper Niven, Michin, and Lash Legend will compete to secure the final spot in the semi-finals. The addition of Lash Legend comes after Jade Cargill was removed from the tournament due to injuries sustained during a brutal attack on the previous episode. The winner will advance to join Bayley and Chelsea Green in the next round.
Shinsuke Nakamura, who recently returned to SmackDown and made his presence known by targeting U.S. Champion LA Knight, is set to compete in his first match back. Nakamura will face Andrade, a former U.S. Title challenger, ahead of his championship bout against Knight at Survivor Series. Last week, Nakamura’s interference during Knight’s title defense against Santos Escobar further fueled their rivalry, adding intrigue to this matchup.
The Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will face Carmelo Hayes in a highly anticipated non-title match. Tensions escalated last week when Rhodes confronted Kevin Owens and later clashed backstage with Hayes, leading to a physical altercation. General Manager Nick Aldis intervened to prevent the situation from spiraling out of control, but the confrontation set the stage for their showdown on SmackDown.
The build-up to the Women’s WarGames match continues as both Team Ripley and Team Stratton are scheduled to appear. With Bayley stepping in as the fifth member of Team Ripley, replacing the injured Jade Cargill, the lineup is complete. Team Ripley, consisting of Bayley, Bianca Belair, Iyo Sky, Naomi, and Rhea Ripley, will take on Team Stratton, featuring Tiffany Stratton, Nia Jax, Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, and Candice LeRae. Last Monday, Bianca Belair secured the WarGames advantage for her team with a victory over Nia Jax, assisted by Bayley. Fans can expect the two teams to ramp up the intensity ahead of their clash at Survivor Series.
With an action-packed lineup and critical storylines heading into Survivor Series, this episode of SmackDown promises to deliver excitement and anticipation for Saturday’s big event.
