The December 16, 2024, episode of WWE Raw will air live from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts, and promises an exciting night featuring top stars from the Red brand, including CM Punk, Gunther, Seth “Freakin” Rollins, Damian Priest, Liv Morgan, The New Day, and Drew McIntyre.
After the successful return of Saturday Night’s Main Event, which saw four championship matches and a grudge match between Drew McIntyre and Sami Zayn, WWE now shifts focus to its weekly flagship show, Monday Night Raw, where the fallout from SNME will unfold.
World Tag Team Champions Finn Balor and JD McDonagh will put their titles on the line against Erik and Ivar of the War Raiders. Last week, General Manager Adam Pearce made the match official after Finn Balor attacked Damian Priest and Gunther. Pearce also stirred things up by turning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship bout into a triple-threat match at SNME. While Balor failed to capture the Heavyweight title, he and McDonagh must now defend their tag team gold on Raw.
Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker will also defend his title against Ludwig Kaiser. The two last clashed at Survivor Series 2024 in a triple-threat match alongside Sheamus, where Breakker emerged victorious. Kaiser now has another chance to dethrone Breakker and claim the Intercontinental Championship in front of the Boston crowd.
CM Punk, fresh off his victorious return at Survivor Series and his involvement in the men’s WarGames match alongside the OG Bloodline, has made it clear he wants to enter the title picture. However, his path is blocked by a long-time rival, Seth Rollins. The two superstars reignited their feud last week, trading verbal jabs as Punk dismissed Rollins as a “second-stringer” during an interview with Jackie Redmond. Both Punk and Rollins are set to appear on this week’s show, and their confrontation is expected to escalate further. Reports indicate their rivalry could culminate in a blockbuster clash during Raw’s highly anticipated Netflix debut next month.
Boston’s own Kofi Kingston will also appear on Raw, hoping for a warmer reception in his hometown. Since ousting Big E from The New Day, Kofi and Xavier Woods have faced intense backlash from both fans and the locker room. On last week’s show, their attempt to explain their actions was met with relentless boos, particularly from the Kansas crowd, who refused to hear them out. Kofi will look to address the WWE Universe again this week, hoping the Boston fans show him some love.
