AEW is set to deliver another exciting night of action with Battle of the Belts XII, airing on October 19, 2024. Headlining the event is an AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator Match between Anna Jay and Mariah May, stemming from a heated backstage altercation just days prior on AEW Dynamite (October 16). The confrontation began when Mariah May was expressing her frustrations in a backstage interview, which was interrupted by Anna Jay. The two exchanged verbal jabs before quickly escalating into a physical brawl. Christopher Daniels stepped in to separate the two, only for Mariah May to strike him, adding more fuel to the fire. AEW wasted no time in booking the highly anticipated match for Battle of the Belts XII.
Both competitors have been on a roll lately. Anna Jay has secured several victories in recent weeks, while Mariah May is fresh off a title defense against Willow Nightingale at AEW WrestleDream, proving she’s more than capable of holding her own. This match could be a significant turning point for both women as they vie for a shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship.
In addition to the Eliminator Match, Battle of the Belts XII promises more high-stakes action. AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada is set to defend his title against Kyle O’Reilly from The Conglomeration.
