AEW taped the March 22, 2025 episode of AEW Collision: Slam Dunk Saturday following AEW Dynamite on March 19. This will be a special one-hour episode, with the second half airing on Sunday.
Similar to Grand Slam Australia, this episode benefits from another strong sports-related lead-in. Slam Dunk Saturday will feature four exciting contests, offering a mix of match types. Across both nights, there will be a variety of action. Saturday will highlight a title match, a series decider, a brutal encounter, and a signature AEW multi-man match. Konosuke Takeshita, alongside The Murder Machines, could provide a real treat of high-impact action. Weeks ago, Daniel Garcia and Adam Cole’s first encounter exceeded expectations. The match helped rehabilitate Adam Cole’s singles career. Does the former world champion need a title to prove he still has what it takes? It feels like this is Garcia’s match to lose. While he held his own against Cole in their first meeting, the interference of Shane Taylor Promotions raised questions about Garcia’s ability to get the job done on his own. Garcia has expressed his desire to be a fighting champion, but there were moments in the first match where Cole’s experience seemed to get the better of him. Garcia, however, showed maturity and skill beyond his years. A win over Cole would be a major achievement for him.
After a brutal attack from Spike on Jon Moxley Wednesday, we might see another brutal encounter on Saturday. Julia Hart came close to being decimated during her second-round match against Queen Aminata, who delivered a surgical strike. Their rivalry, one of AEW’s youngest female stars, has been a hard-hitting, action-packed treat. The second match between them topped the first, and expectations are high for their third bout. For Hart, a win would build momentum ahead of a potential third match with Jamie Hayter. But Aminata, with the possible support of Serena Deeb, cannot be underestimated. The winner of this match will be in a strong position for a potential title shot down the road. This is a tough match to call, and it promises to deliver.
