The September 28, 2024 episode of AEW Collision continues the excitement from the AEW Grand Slam, pre-taped at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York. The show kicked off with Jack Perry defending his TNT Championship in an open challenge against Minoru Suzuki. Perry retained his title but attacked Suzuki post-match, leading to Katsuyori Shibata stepping in for the save. Brody King then defeated Action Andretti in a singles match, and after the bout, Top Flight intervened to stop King from continuing his attack. In a thrilling tornado trios match, Chris Jericho, Big Bill, and Bryan Keith of The Learning Tree overcame Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, and Mark Briscoe of The Conglomeration. Later, Jamie Hayter defeated Saraya in a hard-fought Saraya’s Rules Match, and in a brutal Lumberjack Strap Match, Hangman Adam Page secured a victory over Jeff Jarrett.
The action continued with Claudio Castagnoli, PAC, and Wheeler Yuta successfully defending their AEW World Trios Championship against Komander and Private Party. In a three-way match, Hologram came out victorious against Beast Mortos and Dralistico, with tensions rising between Mortos and Dralistico, leading to a post-match brawl and an appearance by Rush. The night concluded with a crucial AEW Continental Championship eliminator match, where Kazuchika Okada defeated Sammy Guevara, eliminating him from title contention.
