The event kicked off with a six-man tag team match featuring Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, and Mark Briscoe, who had Tomohiro Ishii in their corner. They faced off against Roderick Strong, Matt Taven, and Mike Bennett. The match saw a thrilling conclusion when Kyle O’Reilly locked in a guillotine choke on Matt Taven, securing the victory for his team. The crowd was thoroughly engaged, particularly with the presence of Tomohiro Ishii, who added a layer of intensity to the proceedings.
Willow Nightingale took on Harley Cameron in a singles match that initially saw Harley drawing significant heel heat from the Cardiff crowd. One of the night’s marquee moments was the match between Katsuyori Shibata, who was accompanied by Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara, and Jay Lethal, who had the support of Sonjay Dutt and Satnam Singh. Shibata’s technical prowess was on full display as he secured a victory with a decisive armbar submission, further establishing his dominance in the ring.
The night also featured a unique tag team match where Kris Statlander and Stokely Hathaway took on Kid Lykos II and Nina Samuels. Statlander was the star of the match, handling most of the action and showcasing her strength by slamming Hathaway onto Kid Lykos II, setting up Hathaway for an easy pin in what was essentially a squash match.
The main event featured Hook facing off against Big Bill, who was accompanied by Chris Jericho and Bryan Keith. The night reached its climax when Chris Jericho climbed onto the announcer table, posing with the FTW Championship. The crowd erupted with chants of “we want Bill,” solidifying Big Bill as the most popular AEW wrestler in Cardiff, even surpassing the reception for stars like Ospreay and Danielson earlier in the week on Dynamite. The atmosphere was electric, making this episode of AEW Collision one of the most memorable in recent history.
