The January 15 2025 episode of AEW Dynamite will air live from the Andrew J. Brady Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has announced the lineup of matches and segments for this week’s show.
Kenny Omega is set to return to action for the first time in AEW since undergoing diverticulitis surgery. Brian Cage, thrilled to face his dream opponent, shared his excitement on social media. Cage expressed his determination, stating he has nothing to lose and everything to gain. In a video, he mentioned that he has waited years for this opportunity, likening himself to a “Delivery Man” who always delivers in the ring. Cage predicted their match, which opens the broadcast, will be a battle of machines, with fewer commercial breaks to interrupt the action.
Powerhouse Hobbs earned the biggest chance of his career by winning the Casino Gauntlet Match on AEW Dynamite. He defeated top-tier wrestlers, including Hangman Adam Page, Jay White, Ricochet, Adam Cole, Jeff Jarrett, and Kyle O’Reilly. Hobbs pinned O’Reilly with a spinebuster to claim victory. In a post-match interview with Renee Paquette, Hobbs reminded the crowd that Moxley had brought him to AEW, but vowed to defeat him next Wednesday. Despite his confidence, Hobbs enters his first AEW Championship Match as the underdog, set to face Jon Moxley in the champion’s hometown of Cincinnati during AEW Dynamite: Maximum Carnage.
The episode will also feature MVP’s AEW in-ring debut, teaming with The Hurt Syndicate members Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley. They’ll face the AEW Tag Team Champions Private Party and Mark Briscoe in a Trios match. This came after MVP interrupted a Private Party celebration, predicting Lashley and Shelton as future AEW Tag Champions. The Trios match was confirmed during Saturday’s AEW Collision, further building anticipation.
HOOK continues his rivalry with Brian Cage and The Patriarchy. The feud stems from October when the group was revealed as Taz’s attackers. HOOK previously teamed with Katsuyori Shibata but lost to Cage and Nick Wayne. However, HOOK secured a win against Wayne at AEW Rampage: New Year’s Smash. Ahead of the January 15 event, he has sent a message targeting Cage, promising retaliation.
