The October 23, 2024 episode of AEW Dynamite is set to air live from the Maverik Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. Fans are eager to see what unfolds as the show builds on the aftermath of the 2024 WrestleDream fallout, with several high-stakes matches and ongoing storylines keeping the excitement at an all-time high.
Mark Briscoe, fresh off his successful defense of the Ring of Honor World Championship against Chris Jericho at WrestleDream, finds himself once again in Jericho’s sights. Despite being decisively pinned after taking Jay Briscoe’s finisher, Jericho remains fixated on capturing his ninth World title, determined to become “El Nueve.” In typical Jericho fashion, he continued to taunt Briscoe by invoking the memory of his late brother Jay. Mark, unable to tolerate the disrespect, laid down a challenge for a Ladder War, adding fuel to their heated rivalry.
Meanwhile, the mystery surrounding Taz’s off-camera attack before the 5th anniversary episode of AEW Dynamite takes center stage. With the help of security footage, Taz’s son, HOOK, has identified the culprit behind the assault, and the big reveal is expected tonight. Tensions also rise as Daniel Garcia teams up with Private Party (Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen) to take on The Elite (Jack Perry and The Young Bucks) in a six-man tag team match. This grudge match stems from Garcia’s frustration with The Elite’s failure to step up against Jon Moxley and his faction.
Additionally, House of Black returns to action on tonight’s show after their dominating win on AEW Collision. And Kyle Fletcher, who recently turned on Will Ospreay, is set to speak once again, potentially turning his silence into a key storyline.
