The April 2 2025 episode of AEW Dynamite will act as the final stop before AEW Dynasty 2025 and will be broadcast live from the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, Illinois. Storylines and rivalries are expected to reach their peak as the promotion builds toward the pay-per-view event on April 6 in Philadelphia.
AEW Dynasty 2025 will take place at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This marks the second edition of the Dynasty pay-per-view and AEW’s first-ever PPV event in the state of Pennsylvania. Several matches and segments have already been announced for the show, including the much-anticipated return of Will Ospreay. Additionally, AEW will unveil the Men’s and Women’s brackets for the upcoming Owen Hart Foundation Tournament during the broadcast.
One of the featured matches on Dynamite will see AEW World Champion Jon Moxley team up with Marina Shafir to face the duo of Willow Nightingale and Swerve Strickland in a mixed tornado tag team contest. The match stems from the ongoing chaos between Moxley and Strickland, who are scheduled to face each other for the AEW World Championship at Dynasty on April 6.
In the women’s division, Penelope Ford is set to go one-on-one with AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm. The match was announced following Ford and Megan Bayne’s attack on Storm during the March 29 edition of AEW Collision. Bayne, who pinned Storm in tag team action last week, will accompany Ford to the ring, looking to weaken the champion ahead of their title clash at Dynasty. Storm, however, appears unfazed and determined to silence both Ford and Bayne.
Claudio Castagnoli will also step into the ring this week. Castagnoli is seeking revenge after being assaulted backstage by Cope during last week’s episode. The encounter adds more fuel to the ongoing rivalry ahead of the AEW World Trios Championship match at Dynasty, where the Death Riders — Castagnoli, Pac, and Wheeler Yuta — will face Rated FTR, consisting of Cope, Cash Wheeler, and Dax Harwood.
The April 2 episode of Dynamite is shaping up to be a pivotal night, setting the tone for AEW Dynasty 2025.
