The May 29, 2024 episode of AEW Dynamite will be the highly anticipated fallout from Double or Nothing 2024. A Casino Gauntlet match is scheduled to determine the challenger for the AEW World Championship at the upcoming Forbidden Door 2024 PPV. After successfully defending his title against Christian Cage, Swerve Strickland will soon learn who his next opponent will be, although it remains unclear if any NJPW talent will be involved in the title contention.
Chris Jericho’s current gimmick in AEW, “The Learning Tree,” satirizes fan criticisms of his effectiveness in elevating young talent. Boasting about how everyone who enters the “Jericho Vortex” emerges better, Jericho has embraced this obnoxious persona. This change has led to an FTW Championship win and a new protégé in “The Redwood” Big Bill. Jericho retained his title over HOOK and Katsuyori Shibata at Double or Nothing with the help of “Bounty Hunter” Bryan Keith, who seeks to benefit from the Jericho Vortex.
This episode will feature Swerve Strickland in a singles match, and Mercedes Mone will celebrate her TBS title win. Additionally, the Don Callis Family contract will be handed out, and “The Learning Tree” will get TV time. Tune in for the preview and match card for AEW Dynamite on May 29, 2024.
