Jake Paul makes his return to the boxing ring later tonight (Fri., Nov. 15, 2024), in a highly anticipated and controversial clash against former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson. The eight-round fight, scheduled for three minutes per round, will take place inside AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and stream exclusively on Netflix.
This matchup was initially slated for earlier this year but was delayed due to medical complications suffered by Tyson. Paul kept busy by defeating Mike Perry via technical knockout on the original fight date (July 20, 2024). Now, the rescheduled bout finally sees the YouTuber-turned-boxer facing off against the legendary “Iron Mike.”
The co-main event features Katie Taylor defending her Super Welterweight title against Amanda Serrano in a rematch two years in the making. Their first encounter at Madison Square Garden in 2022 was historic, as it marked the first women’s fight to headline the iconic venue. Taylor vs. Serrano 2 promises to deliver another thrilling chapter, with all of Taylor’s super lightweight belts on the line in a 10-round contest.
The undercard includes Shadasia Green battling Melinda Watpool for the vacant WBO Super Middleweight title. Green, with a record of 14-1 (11 KOs), is riding high after her victory over Natasha Spence. Watpool, an undefeated Canadian fighter (7-0, 2 KOs), steps outside her home country for the first time to take on the American powerhouse.
In a compelling 135-pound matchup, Lucas Bahdi (17-0, 15 KOs) squares off against Armando Casamonica (14-0, 3 KOs). Bahdi, a knockout artist from Canada, faces Casamonica, an Italian fighter known for his gritty performances and ability to go the distance. This fight marks Casamonica’s U.S. debut.
Opening the event, Bruce Carrington Jr. (13-0, 8 KOs) takes on Australia’s Dana Coolwell (10-1, 8 KOs) in an eight-round 126-pound bout. Carrington, a decorated featherweight champion, will test Coolwell’s resolve as the Australian makes his American debut.
This card, headlined by Tyson vs. Paul and Taylor vs. Serrano 2, promises a night of historic and action-packed bouts at AT&T Stadium.
