UFC 311: Makhachev vs. Moicano will take place live from the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, on January 18, 2025. The prelims are scheduled to begin at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT, followed by the main card airing live on pay-per-view at 10 PM ET/7 PM PT.
The event kicks off with a clash between a ranked flyweight veteran and an unbeaten prospect, setting the tone for a thrilling evening. Featuring five matchups between ranked competitors and culminating in two highly anticipated championship bouts, UFC 311 promises to be an action-packed start to the 2025 pay-per-view calendar.
In the main event, lightweight champion Islam Makhachev will defend his title against Brazilian finisher Renato Moicano. Makhachev, considered one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world, has won 14 consecutive bouts, including seven finishes in his last eight fights. After back-to-back victories over Alexander Volkanovski and a dominant submission win against Dustin Poirier in 2024, Makhachev looks unstoppable. Moicano, however, is riding a wave of momentum and brings a dangerous finishing ability that could challenge the champion.
The co-main event features a pivotal light heavyweight clash between former champions Jiri Prochazka and Jamahal Hill. Both fighters have had their share of setbacks due to injuries and losses but remain elite competitors in the division. With a “do or die” atmosphere surrounding their matchup, fans can expect fireworks as they vie for another shot at the title.
Dutch middleweight star Reinier de Ridder continues his UFC journey against the unpredictable Kevin Holland. De Ridder, a former two-division champion in ONE Championship, showcased his grappling prowess in his debut with a submission win over Gerald Meerschaert. Holland, known for his striking and athleticism, will aim to exploit de Ridder’s weaknesses in what promises to be a clash of styles.
Ranked bantamweights Karol Rosa and Ailin Perez are set to square off in a crucial bout. Rosa bounced back from a tough loss with a dominant victory in 2024, while Perez rides a four-fight win streak, including a first-round submission in her last fight.
Japanese bantamweight prospect Rinya Nakamura returns to action against Muin Gafurov in a test of skill and experience. Nakamura has been on a rapid rise since winning Road to UFC, but Gafurov, with his 19-5 record, poses a significant challenge.
