UFC Fight Night: Adesanya vs Imavov on February 1, 2025, airs at a special time! The prelims kick off at 9am ET / 6am PT, while the main card begins at 12pm ET / 9am PT. The full event will be available on ESPN+ in the United States. Get ready for an exciting night of action as UFC heads to Saudi Arabia, with Israel Adesanya facing Nassourdine Imavov in a thrilling middleweight battle. The co-main event features rising star Shara Magomedov against British powerhouse Michael “Venom” Page.

Israel Adesanya has long been at the top of the Middleweight division, quickly earning the title and defending it with impressive performances. However, after losing his title to Sean Strickland and suffering another defeat to Dricus Du Plessis, Adesanya has faced some challenges. At 35, he seems to be slowing down, while 29-year-old Imavov is entering his prime and brings plenty of skill and experience to the table. He’s a tough opponent for anyone in the division.

Adesanya is known for his striking, especially his ability to control distance and land devastating kicks and counters. However, his once-advanced skill set has started to show signs of limitation in recent years. Imavov, while not the most varied striker, is also a precise distance fighter with a strong jab. Adesanya’s challenge will be neutralizing that jab, and he has had success with right low kicks, Southpaw hand-fighting, and body shots in the past. Imavov may also pose a threat with his wrestling, though Adesanya has generally been solid in defending takedowns, despite occasionally turning his back.

Imavov has impressive boxing skills at 185 pounds, with a punishing jab and sharp combinations. While wrestling was a weakness early in his career, he’s improved and had success in that department recently. Despite having fewer advantages over Adesanya skill-wise, his youth and less wear on his body could play a key role. Adesanya showed signs of fatigue in his last bout, and if Imavov can push the pace and make it a grueling fight, he could find success.

While Adesanya showed flashes of his old self against Du Plessis, it’s clear that he’s not at his peak. Imavov’s style, built around his jab and methodical offense, could play into Adesanya’s strengths, but he still has the edge in experience. The real question is whether Imavov can push Adesanya out of his comfort zone with pace or wrestling. However, these approaches don’t seem likely to give him a significant advantage over five rounds. Imavov is still unproven at the highest level, and this will be his first real test against an elite fighter. If Adesanya is motivated, we favor him to claim the win, either by decision or late stoppage.
