The September 2, 2024 episode of WWE RAW will feature the continuation of the Intercontinental Championship contender tournament, along with the start of the build-up for the Bad Blood 2024 PLE. A contender match for the Women’s Tag Team Championship is also scheduled, along with a singles match between Shayna Baszler and Zelina Vega. The fallout from Bash in Berlin will be a major focus of this episode, especially with the spotlight on World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. After securing a clean victory over Randy Orton, Gunther’s legitimacy as champion is unquestionable, and speculation is growing that he may face Damian Priest next. Priest himself is riding high after teaming up to defeat Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan, setting the stage for an intense confrontation.
Drew McIntyre’s reaction to his loss against CM Punk at Bash in Berlin will also be something to watch. Last week on RAW, Zelina Vega made a dramatic return by ambushing Sonya Deville, contributing to The Pure Fusion Collective’s loss to Damage CTRL in a tag team match. This week, Vega will go one-on-one with Shayna Baszler in what promises to be a hard-hitting encounter.
The ongoing Intercontinental Championship contender tournament will see two more triple threat matches. Sheamus, “Big” Bronson Reed, and Ludwig Kaiser will face off in one match, while Ilja Dragunov, Dominik Mysterio, and Dragon Lee will clash in the other. The winners will advance to the final match next week, joining Pete Dunne and Jey Uso in the final round.
Elsewhere on the card, the storyline between Chad Gable and The Wyatt Six may have concluded last week with a loss to Uncle Howdy, but American Made’s feud with Alpha Academy is far from over. The Creed Brothers and Ivy Nile will team up to take on Otis, Akira Tozawa, and Maxxine Dupri in a mixed tag team match.
Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair are set to celebrate their victory in regaining the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship at Bash in Berlin. However, their celebrations may be short-lived as they await the outcome of the #1 contender’s match between The Unholy Union and Damage CTRL.
