The first episode of Monday Night Raw in 2025 is set to make history, marking the show’s transition from traditional television to Netflix. This monumental change ends a three-decade run on cable and broadcast TV since Raw’s debut in 1993. The debut episode promises a premium live event (PLE)-like atmosphere, packed with star power and surprises to kick off this new era.
The show will take place at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, and will feature some of WWE’s top Superstars, including John Cena, Roman Reigns, Bianca Belair, Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Seth Rollins, and more. Adding to the spectacle, rapper Travis Scott will make a special appearance, and “The Final Boss” has confirmed his return to WWE for the Netflix debut. This marks his first appearance since a brief cameo at the Bad Blood 2024 PLE in October, and he is expected to deliver a must-see promo.
In championship action, Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan will defend her title against her fierce rival, Rhea Ripley. The tension between the two escalated after Ripley’s triumph in the Women’s WarGames match at Survivor Series. Morgan aims to solidify her reign by defeating Ripley on this historic stage, while Ripley is determined to claim the gold and establish her dominance.
The episode will also feature a grudge match between Jey Uso and Drew McIntyre. Their rivalry intensified last week when McIntyre delivered a brutal claymore to Jey, leading General Manager Adam Pearce to make the match official. McIntyre is on a mission to dismantle the OG Bloodline, and Jey is his next target after a decisive win over Sami Zayn at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Roman Reigns will face Solo Sikoa in a tribal combat match with the Ula Fala at stake. This high-stakes showdown will determine not only the future of the Bloodline but also who will reign as the true Tribal Chief. Reigns seeks to reclaim his place at the head of the table, while Sikoa aims to cement his legacy by dethroning his cousin.
A clash of egos and animosity will see CM Punk face Seth Rollins in the main event. Their heated rivalry reached a boiling point during the final Raw episode of 2024, culminating in a war of words. Rollins, who has called Punk a “cancer,” seeks to purge him from WWE, while Punk is determined to teach Rollins a lesson in respect.
John Cena, widely regarded as the greatest of all time, will kick off his farewell tour on this special episode. Reports suggest Cena will compete full-time in 2025 before retiring at the end of the year, with WrestleMania 41 serving as his final appearance on the grand stage. Fans eagerly anticipate whether Cena will aim for a 17th World Championship to break Ric Flair’s legendary record.
Adding to the excitement, Michael Cole, Pat McAfee, and Alicia Taylor will join the Raw commentary team, bringing a fresh dynamic to the broadcast. Taylor, who transitions from SmackDown, will serve as the new announcer for Raw.
