This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown will take place live from the Unipol Arena in Bologna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy. The Stamford-based promotion will arrive in Bologna to present the March 21 2025 episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
Several big names are scheduled to appear on the show, including CM Punk, Seth Rollins, Jade Cargill, WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton, and Jacob Fatu. The episode will also feature the return of Roman Reigns to SmackDown after his appearance on Raw last week, where he ambushed Punk and Rollins. Reigns made his highly anticipated return on Monday Night Raw to get revenge and attacked Seth Rollins, who was in a steel cage match against CM Punk. After dealing with Rollins, Reigns shifted his focus to the cage, where Paul Heyman was consoling Punk, which angered Reigns, leading him to attack Punk. Punk and Rollins are now set to confront Reigns on this week’s show, and it will be interesting to see how the segment unfolds.
Following their encounter last week, where Liv Morgan interrupted Jade Cargill’s interview with Cathy Kelley and mocked her, the two stars will face off in a singles match. This will be Cargill’s first match since her return at the Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event. Last week, Zelina Vega challenged Women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green in a backstage segment, but Piper Niven intervened and told Vega that to get to the champion, she would first need to face Niven and Alba Fyre. Vega accepted the challenge, and a match for this week was later made official. Braun Strowman and Jacob Fatu will also face off once again in a singles match, following their split victories in their previous encounters on SmackDown this month. After Fatu decimated Strowman following the six-man tag match on March 14, Strowman is eager to get revenge.
Charlotte Flair made her in-ring return with a win over B-Fab, while an interference from Drew McIntyre in the Damian Priest vs. Shinsuke Nakamura match led to a disqualification. McIntyre then attacked Priest, vowing to make his life a living hell. Randy Orton also returned to action and defeated Carmelo Hayes, who slapped him after the match. This led to another RKO, and as Orton lined up for a punt kick, Hayes was saved by Kevin Owens, who managed to flee before Orton could fully take him down.
