The August 16th episode of Friday Night SmackDown is set to build upon the engaging storylines that captivated fans last week, as the anticipation for Bash in Berlin continues to grow. Broadcasting live from the Kia Center in Orlando, Florida, the show will air at its usual 8 PM ET slot on FOX in the United States.
Last week, Roman Reigns returned to SmackDown with a powerful statement. After Solo Sikoa challenged him for the title of Tribal Chief, Roman demonstrated why he’s still The Original Tribal Chief (OTC) by easily dispatching Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa before overpowering Sikoa in the ring. Although Sikoa managed to escape with the Tribal Chief’s lei, it was evident that this new version of The Bloodline is no match for Roman without Jacob Fatu’s presence.
In addition, new WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax will make her first appearance since winning the title, with a championship celebration hosted by Tiffany Stratton. The ongoing rivalry between Naomi and Blair Davenport is also set to continue, with speculation that Davenport might attack Naomi after their match. Last week, Austin Theory involved Grayson Waller in a match against Kevin Owens, setting the stage for Waller to face Owens in a one-on-one singles match. Roman Reigns is also scheduled to appear, where he is expected to address his future and explain his recent actions, including his attack on Solo Sikoa and The New Bloodline.
